The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Lawler (née Murphy), Barnahaskin, Rathanna, Borris, Co Carlow.

Lizzie died peacefully at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, today, 20th January 2025. Sadly missed by her sorrowing nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Joyce’s Funeral Home, Borris, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, 21st January 2025. Funeral will arrive at St Fortchern’s Church, Rathanna, for Requiem Mass at 11:00 am on Wednesday, 22nd January 2025, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Margaret (Peg) O’Keeffe (née Carson), Borris Lodge Nursing Home.

Peg O’Keeffe, in her 91st year, (formerly of Cluain Árd, Limerick Road, Roscrea, Co Tipperary) died peacefully on 13th January 2025 in the wonderful care of Joanna, Kathleen and all the Staff of Borris Lodge Nursing Home, Borris, Co Carlow, surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her sons Denis and Michael.

Sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband Michael, daughters Aileen and Edel, sons Jimmy, Liam, Martin, Darragh and Conrad, son-in-law Kieron, and Conrad’s partner Martin, daughters-in-law Mary, Helen, Mairead, Anabel and Hayley. Grand-children, great-grand-children, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday, 16th January 2025 at 10:00 am in The Sacred Heart Church, Borris, Eircode R95 H336, followed by interment in St Cronan’s Catholic Cemetery, Roscrea, Co Tipperary, at approximately 1:00 pm, Eircode E53 PK82.

The death has occurred of Ann Holmes (née Cloke), Borris, Co Carlow

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ann Holmes (née Cloke) of Spahill, Borris, Co Carlow, who passed away peacefully at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, on Thursday, 9th January 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe.

Ann will be deeply missed by her daughters Lorraine and Madelaine, her son-in-law Darragh, Lorraine’s partner Gavin, and her cherished granddaughter Harper. She is also mourned by her brothers Larry and Mike, her sister Mary, her nephews, nieces, and her many friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Joyce’s Funeral Home, Borris, on Sunday, 12th January 2025, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, 13th January 2025, at 11:00 am in St Fortchern’s Church, Rathanna, followed by cremation at Newland’s Cross Crematorium on Tuesday at 1:30 pm.
